Negative entanglement measure for bipartite separable mixed states
We define a negative entanglement measure for separable states which shows
that how much entanglement one should compensate the unentangled state at least
for changing it into an entangled state. For two-qubit systems and some special
classes of states in higher-dimensional systems, the explicit formula and the
lower bounds for the negative entanglement measure have been presented, and it
always vanishes for bipartite separable pure states. The negative entanglement
measure can be used as a useful quantity to describe the entanglement dynamics
and the quantum phase transition. In the transverse Ising model, the first
derivatives of negative entanglement measure diverge on approaching the
critical value of the quantum phase transition, although these two-site reduced
density matrices have no entanglement at all. In the 1D Bose-Hubbard model, the
NEM as a function of changes from zero to negative on approaching the
critical point of quantum phase transition.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figure
Analyzing the Dynamics of a Rumor Transmission Model with Incubation
This paper considers a rumor transmission model with incubation that incorporates constant recruitment and has infectious force in the latent period and infected period. By carrying out a global analysis of the model and studying the stability of the rumor-free equilibrium and the rumor-endemic equilibrium, we use the geometric approach for ordinary differential equations which is based on the use of higher-order generalization of Bendixson’s criterion. It shows that either the number of rumor infective individuals tends to zero as time evolves or the rumor persists. We prove that the transcritical bifurcation occurs at R0 crosses the bifurcation threshold R0=1 by projecting the flow onto the extended center manifold. Since the rumor endemic level at the equilibrium is a continuous function of R0, as a consequence for successful eradication of the rumor, one should simply reduce R0 continuously below the threshold value 1. Finally, the obtained results are numerically validated and then discussed from both the mathematical and the sociological perspectives
(6aS,11aR,11cS)-8-Sulfanylidene-2,3,5,6,6a,7,11,11a,11b,11c-decahydro-3a,7a-diaza-1H,4H-benzo[de]anthracen-3a-ium chloride hemihydrate
The title compound, C15H23N2S+·Cl−·0.5H2O, was prepared from (6aS,11aR,11cS)-2,3,5,6,6a,7,11,11a,11b,11c-decahydro-3a,7a-diaza-1H,4H-benzo[de]anthracene-8-one (sophocarpine) and Lawesson’s reagent. The thione-substituted ring is in an envelope conformation and the three other six-membered rings are in chair conformations. In the crystal, anions and cations are linked by N—H⋯Cl and weak C—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. One 0.5-occupancy solvent water molecule lies on a twofold rotation axis and another 0.25-occupancy solvent water molecule is in a general position. The H atoms of these water molecules were not located or included in the refinement
1-(Benzylideneamino)pyridinum iodide
In the title compound, C12H11N2
+·I−, the aromatic rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 73.40 (3)°. In the crystal structure, π–π contacts between the pyridine rings and the benzene and pyridine rings [centroid–centroid distances = 3.548 (3) and 4.211 (3) Å] may stabilize the structure
Demonstration of Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Steering with Enhanced Subchannel Discrimination
Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) steering describes a quantum nonlocal
phenomenon in which one party can nonlocally affect the other's state through
local measurements. It reveals an additional concept of quantum nonlocality,
which stands between quantum entanglement and Bell nonlocality. Recently, a
quantum information task named as subchannel discrimination (SD) provides a
necessary and sufficient characterization of EPR steering. The success
probability of SD using steerable states is higher than using any unsteerable
states, even when they are entangled. However, the detailed construction of
such subchannels and the experimental realization of the corresponding task are
still technologically challenging. In this work, we designed a feasible
collection of subchannels for a quantum channel and experimentally demonstrated
the corresponding SD task where the probabilities of correct discrimination are
clearly enhanced by exploiting steerable states. Our results provide a concrete
example to operationally demonstrate EPR steering and shine a new light on the
potential application of EPR steering.Comment: 16 pages, 8 figures, appendix include
